"Emerge" is part of the Paradox Collection that explores the tension between freedom and control, using instinctive mark-making and loose brushstrokes alongside classical portraiture. Jamie works with materials like charcoal, acrylic paint, and ink for their unpredictable qualities, the space where her creativity thrives.

Her paintings begin with spontaneous brushstrokes, letting the background unfold intuitively. She then steps back and reflects on what’s emerged before drawing something intentional within the abstract layers she’s created. At the core of her process is a mirror and conversation with herself, drawn from her own journey of self-discovery.

As a young woman, she often finds herself questioning how much freedom is too much before feeling lost, and how much control is too much before feeling trapped. Jamie's paintings are a constant attempt to balance these opposing emotions, a reminder that both can coexist, and that within this coexistence, life and art feel most honest.
